Fun In The Forest runs outdoor nature based school holiday camps in North London, Muswell Hill. The camps are run by Ivana Grant, an experienced Forest School leader and primary school teacher. We welcome children from 5yrs to 11yrs of age.
We have been running Forest School camps in Coldfall Woods since 2012, contributing to many happy childhood memories for our North London families. With the aim to have great fun and rediscover the lost skills of playing purely with resources that nature has provided, our children engage in exciting and stimulating nature based activities. To name a few: building fortresses, crazy golf courses, rope swings and rope bridges, dens, stick trails and stick obstacle courses, stick puppet theatre, fairy wonderland, stick boats......as well as nature arts and crafts using fabric, wool, sticks, clay....., going foraging, whittling using real tools, playing woodland games such as capture the flag, kick the can, stuck in the mud. We certainly always have a fantastic nature fun.
Being outdoors all day surrounded with trees and listening to bird's song, plays a huge part in our children’s wellbeing. Connecting with nature keeps the children away from smart phones, it brings pure joy and a sense of adventure to their life. Growing up with Fun In The Forest camps helps create many happy childhood memories, a strong foundation for the teenage years ahead. As we all know, we don’t remember our best day watching TV or looking at smart phone screens. However we do often have fond childhood memories of outdoor fun and play.
Life can be very stressful and tiring in London and our camps are here to help you create a wonderful childhood for your children. We promote a child centred approach where each child is treated as an individual and their needs are truly met. For us, your child’s happiness is at the centre of our practice. We ensure that our holiday camps are very personal and every child is truly included.
